World Cup in Granada, Spain,the last Worl Cup of the year 2013.

The last ISSF World Cup Stage of 2013 kicked off in Granada
This ISSF World Cup Stage in all shooting events is also an important test for the forthcoming 2014 ISSF World Championship. Over 1000 participating athletes coming form 78 countries are here to compete in the 15 Olympic shooting events.
 

ISSF PRESS RELEASE – For immediate release
Granda (ESP), 04/0//2013 - The last ISSF World Cup Stage of the year kicked off in Granada, Spain, today. Fifteen competitions in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Olympic events will be staged there from the 4 through the 11 of July.

The competitions will take place at the Shooting Range CEAR de Tiro Olimpico Juan Carlos I in Las Gabias, which will also be the location of the 2014 ISSF World Championship in all events.

Over 1000 athletes coming from 78 countries, for a total number of 1500 starts, are participating in the event.

“Granada will be the location of next year's ISSF World Championship in all events. We are here to test the venues, and we are sure that we will have a great competition at the same time. Granada is a beautiful city, and a great location for our events.” The ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber said during today's Technical Meeting.

“This is going to be the largest world cup of the year.” The ISSF Vice President Gary Anderson said at the meeting. “With over 1000 athletes participating in the event, this world cup is also an important test competition for the 2014 ISSF World Championship.”

Mr Schreiber said: “Our friend from the Real Federacion de Tiro Olimpico, under the leadership of Mr. Rodrigo de Mesa Ruiz, are doing their best to provide excellent conditions for our athletes. The shooting family is also looking at Granada as the venue of the 52nd ISSF World Shooting Championship, which will be held here next year. We will learn from this experience to prepare a great event in 2014. I would like to take this occasion to thank the organizers for their work and support, as well as the cities of Granada and Las Gabias for their contributions. We are looking forward to an exciting competition, and we wish all participants good luck and great results!”

The first medal match of this ISSF World Cup Stage, the Trap Women final, will take place tomorrow afternoon (5 of July) at 5.30 PM local time.
