The contract was signed by Frank Merian, Chief Executive Officer of SIUS, at a meeting with representatives of IPC Shooting at the IPC’s headquarters in Bonn, Germany, today (14 November).

Xavier Gonzalez, International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Chief Executive Officer said: “Having SIUS on board is great for IPC Shooting.
“They are sure to provide the sport with a high quality, consistent service that will improve the competition experience for shooters and fans alike.

SIUS Chief Executive Officer Frank Merian said: “We are honoured by this sign of confidence from IPC Shooting by entering this agreement with us and we are proud of being in the position to adjust our services to their specific requirements.
“By organising these competitions, IPC Shooting is providing the stage to tie people. This is a further motivation for us to contribute our part to have these events become memorable ones for all athletes, as well as for the audience.
“Our experienced team will be pleased to accept this challenge and will do its utmost to achieve the aim and to fully meet the requirements of IPC Shooting at any time.”
Starting from 2014, SIUS will provide services for all IPC Shooting World Cups and major championships, including the 2014 World Championships in Suhl, Germany, where around 300 athletes from 50 countries will compete at the historic Suhl-Friedberg Shooting Centre from 19-26 July.
The 2014 shooting calendar will kick off in Stoke Mandeville, Great Britain, on 26 March with the first World Cup of the year. Further World Cups will also take place in Poland, Thailand and in the USA.
Shooting fans will be able to access live results for all competitions provided by SIUS at the IPC Shooting website.

Three weeks to go until the deadline for submissions (30 November 2013). Entries received from over 30 countries so far. “Fantastic opportunity for young designers,” said IOC President Bach.
Designers from all over the world still have three weeks (until 30 November 2013) to submit their projects for the Nanjing 2014 Medal Design Competition, an open contest launched in September by the International Olympic Committee(IOC), whose President has urged not to miss.

People from all over the world
seem to have listened to him, entering this international race to design the medal for the second edition of the Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held next year in Nanjing, China.
The deadline approaching, entries have flooded in from over 30 countries, from Bangladesh to Belarus). The youngest candidate was just 13 years old, while the oldest 55.
“This competition offers a fantastic opportunity for young designers to be part of the Olympic Movement,” said IOC President Thomas Bach, who will oversee his first Youth Olympic Games. “I have been very impressed with the high quality and level of creativity shown in the designs received so far.”

Everybody can take part in the Nanjing 2014 Medal Design Competition just by submitting their ideas via the website(medaldesigncompetition.com) until 30 November 2013.
An IOC judging panel featuring - other than sports names - Thomas Heatherwick (an English designer who had realized the iconic Olympic cauldron at London 2012) will select a winning design and two runners-up on 11 December 2013 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IOC will publicly announce the results in late December 2013.

The victorious design will be on the front of all the medals which will be awarded during the Youth Olympics (16-28 August 2014) in Nanjing, where a 6-event Shooting program will take place.
Plus, the winner will win a trip to Nanjing 2014 (tickets to the Opening Ceremony and a special edition collection of medals included).

SIUS Ascor's Champions Trophy, the 10m competition sponsored by Sius Ascor that closed the 2013 ISSF World Cup Final

11.11.2013

CHAIKA AND YANG WON THE CHAMPIONS TROPHY SPONSORED BY SIUS ASCOR

Only the bests participated in the Champions Trophy, the 10m competition sponsored by Sius Ascor that closed the 2013 ISSF World Cup Final held at the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range of Munich from the 6 to the 11 of November.
The 2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Final has been closed today by the SIUS Ascor's Champions Trophy, the traditional competition that brings the very best athletes of the world cup final on the shooting line for a money price of 5000,00 €.
Only the World Cup Final medallists are eligible to participate in the two Champions Trophy events: the 10m Air Pistol and 10m Air Rifle mixed knock-out round.
How does the Trophy works? After four competition shots, the participant with the lowest score goes out, and from there on, one shot after the other, the shooter with the lowest total has to leave the matchj.
When only two athletes are left on the firing line, the total goes back to zero, and three shots are fired to decide the winner of the Champions Trophy.
The bests Pistol and Rifle shooters will win 5.000,00 Euro each, thanks to the SIUS ASCOR Company, the official ISSF results provider sponsoring the event.
To make everything a bit more interesting, the audience is pushed by the speaker to be “as loud as possible” while cheering and supporting their champions.
It was the Belarusian shooter Vicktoria Chaika who won the Pistol Champions trophy outdoing the reigning Olympic Champion Jin Jongoh of Korea.
The Rifle Champions Trophy finished in favour of Yang Haoran, the 17-year old Chinese shooter who had won the 10m Air Rifle Men final last week. Yang outdid the winner of the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event, Italy's Petra Zublasing, who finished just 0.2 behind him in the final duel.
