ISSF Executive Committee met in Munich - New ISSF Sponsorship rules approved




Changes to the ISSF Eligibility, ISSF Commercial Rights and ISSF Sponsorship / Advertising Rules have been approved by the Executive Committee, along with the new ISSF Code of Ethics. The Executive Committee also nominated the ISSF Technical Delegates for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, the 2018 ISSF World Championship, and the 2020 Olympic Games.

The ISSF Executive Committee met in Munich, Germany, on the 1st of March 2016.

The agenda of the meeting included the discussion on the new ISSF Code of Ethics, which was approved by the Committee and will be published in the next days in the Rules section of the ISSF official website at http://www.issf-sports.org/theissf/rules.ashx

The Executive Committee also approved some changes to the ISSF Eligibility, ISSF Commercial Rights and ISSF Sponsorship / Advertising Rule, which will be included in the fourth print of the ISSF Rules, due to be published in the next weeks online.

Main changes regarded rule 4.1.7: Athletes from a nation with a suspended National Federation may participate in ISSF Championships upon decision of the Executive Board, but they must compete as Independent Shooting Participants (ISP) under the ISSF flag, not the flag of their nation;” and rule 4.4.4, about the Product Technology Identification: “the Product Technology Identification means the technical identification (which shall not include any Manufacturer Identification or parts thereof) used on an item of equipment to identify fabric or any technology used in development and manufacturing of the equipment item used.”

These changes will become effective immediately.

Furthermore, the ISSF Executive Committee nominated the ISSF Technical Delegates for some major competitions to be conducted in the next years, as follow.

3rd Youth Olympic Games 2018 in Buenos Aires (ARG):
-      Mr. Carlos Silva Monterosso (GUA).

52nd World Shooting Championship 2018 in Changwon (KOR):
Rifle and Pistol events
-      Mr. Gary Anderson (USA) as Technical Delegate;
-      Mr. Peter Underhill (GBR) as Technical Delegate Assistant.
Shotgun
-      Mr. Demetris Lordos (CYP) as Technical Delegate;
-      Mr. Mohamed Wahdan (EGY) as Technical Delegate Assistant

XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo (JPN):
Rifle and Pistol
-      Mr. Jörg Brokamp (GER)
Shotgun
-      Mr. Demetris Lordos (CYP)

“It has been an important and productive meeting,” said the ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber. “The ISSF Executive Committee approved a new ISSF Code of Ethics, which we consider an important step forward in the governance of our Federation.”

“The Executive Committee also worked on the ISSF Eligibility, ISSF Commercial Rights and ISSF Sponsorship / Advertising Rule, to update the document according to the IOC Rule 50 and to the related by-laws. The approved changes include more freedom in athletes advertisement and sponsorship regulations This was essential, in the lead-up to the XXXI Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.”

The ISSF Executive Committee will meet again in Moscow, on the 29th of June 2016, right before the bi-annual ISSF General Assembly which will be conducted there on the 1st and 2nd of July.
