Range-by-range details on the producers and models of the electronic scoring systems, electronic targets, clay targets, and clay targets throwing machines that will be used at the pre-Olympic world cup and during the Games.
The Rio 2016 Olympic Shooting Range is equipped with the following targets and scoring systems. The same configuration will be in use during the 2016 ISSF Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun World Cup in Rio de Janeiro (13-25 April) that will serve as an Olympic test event.
50m range:
60 firing points, SIUS AG electronic targets – acoustic S50
25m range:
40 firing points (8 groups), SIUS AG electronic targets – acoustic S25
10m range:
60 firing points, SIUS AG electronic targets - laser LS10
Finals hall:
50m - 10 firing points, SIUS AG electronic targets – hybrid HS50
25m - 15 firing points (3 groups), SIUS AG electronic targets – hybrid HS25
10m - 10 firing points, SIUS AG electronic targets - laser LS10
Firing direction:
The firing direction of the 50m and 25m range is south. (Note: Brazil is located in the Southern Hemisphere).
Shotgun ranges:
The Shotgun shooting range of Rio has 3 combined ranges for Trap, Double Trap and Skeet.
The shooting ranges are equipped with LaPorte clay target throwing machines, Elettronica Progetti acoustic release system and electronic scoreboards.
The clay targets will be produced by LaPorte, in the following colours: flash green (orange targets with green flash powder) for qualifications, flash orange for the finals.
The firing direction of the shotgun shooting ranges is south. (Note: Brazil is located in the Southern Hemisphere).
