Finals 10m Air Pistol Women
KIM JANGMI (KOR) BEAT SUN QI (CHN) IN A SHOOT-OFF
FOR THE 10M AIR RIFLE W GOLD
It has been a
shoot-off to decide the brightest medal, at today’s 10m Air Pistol Women final
in Fort Benning.
Korea’s Kim
Jangmi won today’s 10m Air Pistol Women event, the first pistol match of the
2013 ISSF World Cup in Fort Benning, GA, USA.
The 20-year old Korean shooter scored 199.6 points, beating China’s 26-year old Sun Qi by 9.6 to 9.1 points in a shoot-off for Gold.
Kim, a 2010
Youth Olympic Games Champion in this event, and a 2012 Olympic Champion in the
25m Pistol Women event, had already finished on the podium at the beginning of
the season, as she pocketed Bronze at the first ISSF World Cup Stage of the
year in Changwon, Korea.
Today’s
Bronze medal went to Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic, 26, who had led the
qualifications. With a final score of 178.2 points, the 2010 World Champion won
her second medal of the season, following the Silver she had secured in
Changwon, last month.
The second
Chinese finalist, Su Yuling, closed the match in fourth with 157.5
points, followed by Russia’s Svetlana Medvedeva, with 136.0 points. Germany’s
Munkhbayar Dorjsuren placed in sixth, with 115.6 points, while Serbia’s Bobana
Velikovic ranked seventh with 94.8 points. Following them, it was Galina
Orlovskaya of Russia who placed in eighth with 76.2 points.
