Complete Medal Standings of the ISSF Shooting World Cups 2013

ISSF SHOOTING WORLD CUPS, STARTING A NEW OLYMPIC CYCLE FOR RIO 2016, IN ALL DISCIPLINES

In July, it was carried out very successfully the last World Cup of the Olympic Cycle 2013 in Granada, ESP. It was a real test for the Organizing Committee of the Spanish Federation for the World Championships to be held in the same complex in September 2014.

With the end of the Olympic Cycle 2013, I thought it would be interesting to see how the medals were distributed among various participating nations. Therefore I decided to assemble a different medal standings which I separated by shooting disciplines and accumulating the 4 World Cups of each discipline, to have an overview of the performance of the participating countries in each of them, Shotgun, Rifle and Pistol shooting. At the end, I combined all the disciplines in a single medals standings to get a global performing of the participating countries.

In the discipline of Shotgun, Italy collected 17 medals, showing that the Italians are still unbeatable in shotgun, taking first place with 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 6 Bronze medals. Second place went to Great Britain with 3 Gold and 1 Silver and Russia in third place with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze. A total of 20 countries shared the 60 medals distributed in this discipline.

In Rifle, China surpassed all other countries winning a total of 13 medals, including 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 1 Bronze. In second place was Germany with 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze and thirdly to Serbia who won 3 Gold and 4 Bronze. A total of 20 nations shared the 60 medals distributed in this discipline.

In the Pistol events, China once again surpassed all their opponents to a total of 14 medals, including 5 Gold, 7 Silver and 2 Bronze, the second place went to Korea with a collection of  5 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals, followed by Serbia who won 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze. 18 countries shared the 60 medals in this discipline.

At the end I worked out another medal table, now bringing together all disciplines in one medal standing where you can see the real performance of the countries that participated on the three shooting disciplines in a total of 7 World Cups during this Year of 2013. In this presentation, there were 37 nations sharing a total of 180 medals with China leading the medal standings with a total of 32 medals followed by Italy in second position with 20 medals and Korea ranking third with 10 medals.
