– 10M AIR RIFLE, 50M PISTOL AND RAPID FIRE MEDALS
The ISSF Junior Cup continued with the 10m Air Rifle Men and Women Junior finals, and with the 50m Pistol and 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior events.
Germany continues winning, at ISSF Junior Cup in Suhl: Nina Laura Kreutzer (GER) won indeed the 10m Air Rifle Women Junior Event. The 19-year old athlete scored 208.7 points to step upon the podium, and to prevail over Nadine Ungerank from Austria (206.6 points) and Yulia Karimova from Russia (185.9 points). The host country of the first ISSF Junior Cup also placed two more athletes into the final: Jolyn Beer and Selina Gschwandtner, who finished in fifth and sixth place with 143.4 and 122.8 points, respectively.
Such excellent results led team Germany upon the highest step of the teams' podium, with an overall score of 1244.9 points (Selina Gschwandtner, Jolyn Beer and Tina Grünwedel). But that was not enough: also the Silver medal went to Germany, secured by the second team (Nina Laura Kreitzer, Lena Cramer and Patricia Piepjohn) with 1240.5 points. The Russian Federation followed in third, taking home the Bronze medal with 1239.4 points.
The head and head fight to reach the top of the medal standings chart between Germany and Russia continued in the following 10m Air Rifle Junior Men Event. There, it was the young pistol champion Vladimir Maslennikov from Russia who pocketed the gold, winning an extremely tight competition with 207.3 points. Only 0.3 points eventually separated him from the Silver medallist, France's Brian Baudouin. Alexis Raynaud, also from Frence, achieved Bronze medal with 184.9 points.
The 50m Pistol Men Junior final was won by Pavlo Korostylov (Ukraine). The 16-year old athlete turned out to be the best since the morning's qualifications, where he scored 566 points climbing atop of the leaderboard. Then, scoring 198.0 points in the Final, Korostylov defeated Switzerland's Andreas Riedener (196.0 points in the final). Alexander Skakov of the Russian Federation scored 172.7 points in the final to win the Bronze medal, also pushing his team up in the rankings.
At the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men medal match, Jan Quiquampoix from France won against Alexandr Marchev from Russia by 27 to 24 hits. Oscar Miliwek from Poland pocketed the Bronze medal (18 hits).
