ISSF WORLD CUP IN SHOTGUN EVENTS OPENED IN ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN





The third leg of this year's ISSF World Cup Series has been officially opened at the Asanov Shooting Club in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where 300 athletes will be competing right to the 25th of May. .

The 2014 ISSF World Cup in Shotgun events has been officially opened at the Asanov Shooting Club in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

More than 300 athletes coming from over 45 countries will compete there in the five Shotgun Olympic events, from the 18th through the 25th of May.
The participants were welcomed at the range by the ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber, by the President of the Organizing Committee Mr. Timur Issatayev and by the Chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Training affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Tastanbek Esentayev, during yesterday's Opening Ceremony.

“On behalf of the International Shooting Sport Federation and of its President Mr. Olegario Vazquez Raña, I offer a warm and friendly welcome to all participants of this ISSF World Cup in the shotgun disciplines.” The ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber said.

With the support of the city of Almaty, the Kazakhstan Shotgun Federation under the leadership of Mr. Timur Issatayev had done an excellent job to prepare this prestigious ISSF World Cup.”

“Almaty and the Asanov Shooting club had been host of several Asian Championships as well as junior competitions but it is the first time that the shooting sport family and the ISSF had been invited to Almaty for a world cup and we hope that it will not be the last time.”

Almaty's is the third leg of this year's ISSF World Cup Series, following the ISSF World Cup Stages in Fort Benning, USA (Rifle and Pistol events) and Tucson, USA (Shotgun events).
