The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the composition of the IOC Coordination Commission for Lausanne 2020, the third Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Bartekova, the youngest IOC Member and Skeet Olympic bronze medallist at London 2012, is currently enrolled in a PhD at the University of Matej Bel, Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
She will be the youngest ever Chair of a Coordination Commission. and is also on the Coordination Commission for the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018.
Members of the Coordination Commission, with its gender balance, represent the stakeholders of the Olympic Movement, including athletes, National Olympic Committees and International Federations. They act as a link between the Organising Committee and other Olympic Movement stakeholders, thereby ensuring the coordination necessary to help deliver yet another successful edition of the Youth Olympic Games.
“This youthful Commission will be very much aligned with the youthful sports-loving spirit of the City of Lausanne. The philosophy of these Youth Olympic Games, with their close link between sport and education, will be a perfect fit for the Olympic Capital,” said IOC President Thomas Bach.
