The men’s Skeet final won by Sweden’s Stefan Nilsson closed the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in San Marino, the third shotgun world cup stage of the season, which saw the participation of over 380 athletes coming from 71 countries.
The United States of America finished atop of the table, with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal, the last one won by the two-time Olympic champion Vincent Hancock, at today’s Skeet final.
Australia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Thailand finished all in second place with 1 Gold medal each. The only record of the competition was scored today, when Italy’s Tammaro Cassandro equalled the current Skeet Men world record of 125 hits out of 125 targets.
“On behalf of the ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Raña and of the ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber, I would like to congratulate and thank the President of the San Marino Shooting Federation Moreno Benedettini, the referees, the juries, the volunteers, the sponsors and all the participating nations and athletes,” said the ISSF Technical Delegate Demetris Lordos at the closing ceremony.
The ISSF World Cup Series will now move on to Baku, Azerbaijan, for its last stage: there, a combined Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun competition will be held between June 20 and June 29.
