390 athletes coming from 97 nations will compete in Shooting sport events during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Find here an overview on the Olympic Quota Places distributed and re-allocated.

390 athletes coming from 97 nations will compete in the 15 Olympic Shooting events in the disciplines of Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun shooting during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, from the 6th through the 14th of August.

The ISSF informs its Member Federations, athletes and stakeholders about the current Rio 2016 Quota Places for Shooting sport distribution, following the latest Quota Places exchanges (max. 1 exchange per nation allowed), the distribution of the Tripartite Invitation Places, and the re-distribution of unused Quota Places.

The full overview of the Quota Places distribution by nation and numbers is available online on the ISSF website at:http://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/ogqualification/quota_places_by_nation_and_number.ashx

The re-allocation of unused Quota Places followed the ISSF Rules, and were distributed to National Olympic Committees without any Quota Place in Shooting sport events and the highest number of MQS athletes / MQS results. Unused Quotas Places were returned to the ISSF by:
- 2015 African Championship could not distribute 1 Quota Place;
- Brazil returned 2 Host Country's Quota Places, as their athletes won Quotas in those events;
- The People's Republic of China returned 1 Quota Place;
- Germany returned 1 Quota Place;
- The Russian Federation returned 2 Quota Places;
- The Tripartite Commission returned 2 Quota Places;

Please note that - due to a layout problem - the "Quota Places for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games" table published in the last edition of the ISSF News Magazine (2:2016) is not correct. We apologize for the inconvenient.
