At the Games of the XXXI Olympiad the Croatian Rifle shooter will be the uncontested favorite of the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event, taking place at the Olympic Shooting Centre inside the Deodoro Park on Thursday, August 11th.
Croatian 34-year-old Snjezana Pejcic has been among the undisputed protagonists of the 2016 ISSF World Cup Series, pocketing 3 Gold and 1 Silver medals in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event, also setting a new World Record at the test event in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), where she scored 594 points in the qualification round.
Furthermore, after receiving the World Cup Gold medal in Rio, she was also honored with the 2015 ISSF Shooter of the Year Award, given to her by the ISSF President Mr. Olegario Vazquez Raña and by the ISSF Secretary General Mr. Franz Schreiber.
“They had a great timing!” Said Pejcic with the trophy in her hands and the medal around her neck.
Rio 2016 will be her third Olympic Games participation after Beijing 2008, where she pocketed a Bronze medal in the Air Rifle event, and London 2012, where she placed 5th in the 3 Positions event and missed the final phase in the Air Rifle match, concluding 18th.
The 10m Air Rifle Women event will take place on Saturday, August 6th, delivering the first Gold medal of the XXXI Olympiad, while the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event is scheduled for Thursday, August 11th. All the Shooting events will take place at the Olympic Shooting Centre inside the Deodoro Park.
