Target Sprint has taken the UK by storm

After the huge success of the inaugural British Shooting Target Sprint National Series in 2016, the event is back for 2017 and looks set to be bigger and better than ever.

After its introduction to the UK last year, more and more athletes, coaches and sports facilities are looking to get involved in the fantastic sport for all.

What’s more, with the large array of talent taking part in the new discipline, British Shooting is now looking to take GB Target Sprint to the next level by hosting ranking events that will see Team GB represented on the International stage in Suhl later this year.

Nothing highlights the love the UK has for Target Sprint more than the enthusiasm shown by the athletes involved, but that is also bolstered by the fact the first Target Sprint dedicated sports facility has been created to house the British Shooting Target Sprint National Series Final 2017. The Yate Outdoor Sports Complex is a fantastic example of the future vision the UK has for Target Sprint, with the 400 meter leg of the race taking place on an elite athletics track.
British Shooting’s strategy for the sport is to get as many people involved as possible, bringing an array of ages, abilities, and backgrounds to the sport. With this in mind, each event in the lead up to the Series Final is being held in a different location around the UK, with schools, shooting shows and shooting grounds all offering their facilities in a bid to grow the sport.

A huge vote of thanks is also owed to the incredible support shown by their official partner, Air Arms, who provide equipment including air rifles and ammunition to allow athletes to participate in the sport for little or no cost.

British Shooting are now developing a work force and have recently appointed a head coach to oversee the top Target Sprint talent in the UK.
