First European Games kicks off in Baku today

The continental multi-sport competition will take place from June 12th to June 28th in the Azerbaijani capital, where 335 athletes coming from 48 countries will battle in 19 shooting sport events, 15 individual and 4 team ones.
After being spectators to sixteen Pan American Games, seventeen Asian Games, ten All-African Games and fourteen Pacific Games, Europe finally has its own continental multi-sport event, and it starts today, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Shooting sport, of course, will be among the twenty sport represented, and it will include fifteen individual events, coinciding with the classic Olympic ones, and four mixed team events. A single Olympic quota place for Rio 2016 will be awarded in each individual match, piling on the 102 already assigned during the 2014 ISSF World Championship and the 2015 ISSF World Cup Series.
The schedule for the 19 finals is as it follows:
June 16th:
11:15 AM, 10m Air Rifle Men;
2:00 PM, 10m Air Rifle Women;
4:15 PM, Trap Women.
June 17th:
11:00 AM, 10m Air Pistol Women;
2:30 PM, Trap Men;
5:00 PM, 10m Air Pistol Men.
June 18th:
1:30 PM, 50m Rifle Prone Men;
4:25 PM, Mixed Team Trap.
June 19th:
11:45 AM, 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women;
4:45 PM, Double Trap Men.
June 20th:
11:30 AM, 50m Pistol Men;
1:00 PM, 25m Pistol Women;
3:30 PM, Skeet Women.
June 21st:
12:30 AM, 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men;
2:45 PM, Skeet Men;
5:00 PM, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men.
June 22nd:
2:15 PM, Mixed Team Skeet;
4:50 PM, Mixed Team 10m Air Rifle;
6:20 PM, Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol.
335 shooters will represent 48 countries in Baku, with the largest team being the Russian Federations one with 28 athletes. GeorgiaLizi Kiladze, who placed 4th in the Air Pistol Women event at last years ISSF Junior World Championship, will be the youngest shooter to take part in the Games at 15 years old; while AzerbaijanIrada Ashumova, a four-time Olympian who once won a 25m Pistol Women World Cup Gold medal in Suhl in 1986, will be the oldest one at 57.
