CHINA FINISHES ATOP OF CHANGWON’S ISSF WORLD CUP
MEDAL STANDINGS
China closed
the first ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in the lead. Germany finished in
second, thanks to a Gold won on the very last competition day.
The People’s Republic of
China finished atop of the medal standings of the 2013 ISSF Rifle and Pistol
World Cup in Changwon, Korea, the first ISSF World Cup Stage in the 10 rifle
and pistol Olympic events of the year.
Chinese shooter won indeed
the most of the medals: a total of eighth awards, including four Gold and four
Silver medals.
Germany followed in second
place, not so far from the top, with 3 Gold and 1 Silver. And it was Henri
Junghaenel the protagonist of this success: the 25-year old shooters, who lives
and trains in the US at the Kentucky University, secured two Gold medals in a
row at the 50m Rifle Prone and at the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event, here in
Changwon.
Serbia secured a spot on
the virtual “medal standings” podium thanks to his girls. Except for today’s
50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Bronze medal won by Nemanja Mirosavljev, all the
medals of Serbia were won by women shooter. Zorana Arunovic finished on the 10m
Air Pistol Women podium pocketing a Silver, while the 50m Rifle 3 Positions
Women event was dominated by Andrea Arsovic (Gold) and by Ivana Maksimovic
(Bronze). 2012 Olympic Silver medallist Maksimovic had also secured Bronze at
the 10m Air Rifle Women event, two days before.
Today’s 50m Rifle 3
Positions Men event closed this first ISSF Rifle and Pistol first World Cup of
the year.
The ISSF Wolrd Cup Series
will continue next week in Al Ain (UAE), where the next ISSF SHOTGUN Wolrd Cup
Stage will take place.
The next RIFLE and PISTOL
World Cup Stage is scheduled to take place in Fort Benning, Georgia, USA,
starting from May 4.
