15-strong UAE contingent to be in action from Wednesday in Al Ain

Italian Jessica Rossi, who won the gold medal in the women’s Trap at the London Olympic Games 
last year, will take part at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Final starting in Al Ain today.
Al Ain: London Olympics gold medallist Jessica Rossi of Italy will be part of a 340-strong field from 51 countries which will take part in the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Final at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club (AEGSC) from Wednesday.
Hosts UAE will be represented by a 15-strong team including London 2012 competitors Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Shaikh Juma Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum and Daher Al Aryani and Saif Khalifa Bin Futtais, who won a bronze medal at the ISSF World Cup meeting in Acapulco, Mexico, recently.
Some of the best shooters in business will be seen in action over the next week: namely Michael Diamond of Australia, who boasts of winning two Olympic gold medals in Atlanta amd Sydney and who won the Trap competition in Al Ain in 2011, Oguzhan Tuzun of Turkey who won the gold medal in the same event in Maribut, Slovenia in 2012. There is also Mohammad Asab and Ronjan Sodhi from India, Fehaid Al Deehani from Kuwait and of course Jessica Rossi, who won the gold medal in women’s Trap in London Olympic Games last year.
The AESGC has completed preparations to hold a successful event as they did two years ago in 2011. “We are delighted, grateful and honoured to organize once again this prestigious event in cooperation with the ISSF and the UAE Shooting Association,” said Mohammad Rashid Al Nasseri, Chairman of the LOC. “I am sure that this tournament will furthermore provide the opportunity for all participants to come forward and test their skills to the best of their abilities,” he said.
