ISSF World Cup in Al Ain closed. Olympic Champs met new talents. Team GB finished atop of the medals standings

The 2013 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Al Ain (UAE) came to an end with today’s Skeet Men final won by Norway’s Olympian Tore Brovold, who finished in first missing just one target in the whole competition setting a new world record.
The second ISSF Shotgun World Cup stage of the year saw the comeback of Olympic protagonists, and the rise of new, young talents.
2008 Olympic Champion Chiara Cainero of Italy won the Skeet Women final, while it was Norway’s Tore Brovold, a 2008 Olympic Silver medallist, who won the Skeet Men event. They were both missing an ISSF World Cup Gold since 2010.
2012 Olympic Champion Peter Wilson of Great Britain secured Gold at the Double Trap event, pushing Team GB atop of the medal standings. His 25-year old teammate Aaron Wilson contributed to the success, winning his first ISSF World Cup Trap Men Gold medal.
Italy’s Jessica Rossi, the 2012 Olympic Champion, finished in third at the Trap Women event, leaving the highest steps of the podium to two 23-year old Australian shooters: Laetisha Scanlan and Catherine Skinner.
350 athletes coming from 50 countries have been taking part in the second ISSF Shotgun World Cup Stage of the season, held at the Al Ain Equestrian Shooting and Gold club form the April 17 through April 23.

The ISSF World Cup Series will now move on to Fort Bennig, GA, USA, where the next ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Stage will be conducted from the 4th through the 13th of May.
