39 countries, 154 athletes open 2014 World Cup Final in Gabala
The competition will cover all 15 Olympic shooting events, from 23 to 27 October 2014 in Gabala, Azerbaijan
The 2014 ISSF World Cup Final (WCF) in rifle, pistol, and shotgun events will begin tomorrow, Thursday, 23 October 2014 in Gabala, Azerbaijan. The competition will start at 11:00 AM (GMT +5) with the women’s 10m air rifle final, and will close on Monday, 27 October 2014 with the men’s skeet.
The 2014 WCF in Gabala will feature 39 participant countries competing with 154 athletes—adding up to 170 starts. The largest national teams in the tournament will be the People's Republic of China (23 athletes), the Russian Federation (19), Italy (14), Germany (9), and the United States of America (8). Featuring all of the 15 Olympic shooting events, the ISSF WCF takes place every year as a conclusion to the season’s World Cup Series—which works as qualifying round. The best eight athletes in each event at the ISSF World Cup Series enter the WCF—with a maximum of two athletes per nation for each event.
