The ISSF Training Academy reports the successful completion of the C17 course for international coaches, and the positive outcome of the ISSF/IOC Training Systems Development Project
The ISSF Training Academy is proud to announce the successful completion of the C17 course for international coaches held at the ISSF accredited development centre in Kuortane, Finland.
ISSF Training Academy tutors Mr. Zeljko Todorovic (MNE), Mr. Kimmo Yli-Jaskari (FIN), Mr. Kevin Kilty (IRL) and Mr. Claudio Robazza (ITA) conducted the course over a one-week period commencing on the 5th October.
Coaches from as far as Thailand, Australia and Norway attended the intensive course of instruction including a series of technical workshops covering shooting skills and sport science activities. Student interaction in these workshops was very high and the workshops are designed to push students to develop their coaching, planning and communication skills.
Significantly, some of the participants had previously attended Academy D-courses and highlighted their positive experience of the D-course as their reason for moving forward to the international C-licence.
ISSF Training Academy Director Mr. Zeljko Todorovic said of the course “We are very pleased to see D-course students coming through to take part in the C-course. They come to the C-course knowing what to expect and I believe they have a better experience because of this.”
2013 ISSF/IOC Training Systems Development Course grows in popularity
Twelve participants completed the popular ISSF/IOC Training Systems Development Project, which was conducted during the 11th – 15th October at the ISSF accredited development centre in Kuortane, Finland.
Registrations for places on the course reached such high levels that the ISSF have decided to re-run in January 2014 to satisfy the demand for places on the course.
ISSF Training Academy tutors Mr. Zeljko Todorovic (MNE) and Mr. Kevin Kilty (IRL) led the course and took participants through lectures outlining how federations can develop successful coaching structures and training programmes.
Throughout the course participants took part in workshops designed to help them start the process of documenting their federation’s requirements and outlining a plan of action for the implementation of club and national based coaching programmes.
